Adalberto Ozeta Age
Detention documents allege that 30-year-old Adalberto Ozeta’s attempts to evade prosecution over the weekend began on Saturday night when West Valley City police attempted to arrest a stolen SUV.
Ozeta pulled away from officers and fled through several cities at over 100 miles per hour, police said.
The Utah Department of Public Safety’s helicopter could see Ozeta’s SUV, and a flight crew notified ground officials that he was on Redwood Road in Saratoga Springs and was headed south on the west side of Lake Utah.
The helicopter followed Ozeta’s SUV to Goshen, where it jumped up and escaped from the car.
“The suspect eventually cornered the vehicle and fled on foot. The officers were able to locate [Ozeta] who was trying to hide in a dung heap in the middle of a stable, ”a Saratoga Springs police officer wrote on an affidavit.

After his arrest, Ozeta told police that he had swallowed heroin and that paramedics had taken him to Payson Mountain View Hospital for treatment.
According to a separate affidavit, police cuffed one of Ozeta’s hands to the hospital bed while he was in the intensive care unit.
Ozeta slipped out of the handcuffs and fled on foot through the emergency doors. Ozeta was found and taken back into custody soon after, ”a Payson police report said.
Ozeta is currently being held in Utah County Jail for not being arrested under police command, disrupting the arrest, possessing a controlled substance and escaping official custody. It is unknown what charges he might face following the January 8 fatal accident in South Salt Lake.
Arrest reports also link Ozeta to Daniel Wright, who was arrested in Lehi this weekend after being accused of posing as an officer and stealing a donut from a supermarket. While investigating the police identity theft, Lehi police also arrested Christian Olsen, who said she was Ozeta’s sister.
“[Wright], [Olsen] and Adalberto Ozeta are involved in a large number of criminal activities, including vehicle theft and vehicle theft, and are currently being investigated by RICO. When [Wright] was asked about anything concerning Adalberto, he didn’t answer, saying that this was his “code” and that he couldn’t turn him on, “a report from the arrest read.
RICO, the “Law on Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations,” is a federal law that can seriously sanction anyone involved in a criminal enterprise.
Ozeta has a long criminal history including an incident in 2019 where he was accused of trying to run over a Cottonwood Heights police officer in a credit union parking lot.
