A 22-year-old man accused of killing 10 people at a Colorado supermarket was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday to discuss the rest of the case.

A police officer previously briefed on the shooting said the suspect’s family told investigators Alissa suffered from some form of mental illness, including delusions. The officer was not permitted to speak in public and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
Alissa is accused of killing nine buyers and employees in and out of the store, as well as one of the first three police officers to enter the store. He was also charged with attempted first degree murder for shooting 26 other people, including 11 police officers. He is also accused of illegally possessing 10 ammunition storage depots, devices that were banned after previous mass shootings in Colorado.
Investigators have not discovered a possible motive for the attack. District Attorney Michael Dougherty said there was no evidence that Alissa, who was from the nearby suburb of Arvada, had ever visited the supermarket.
