In a moving Instagram post, his mother Lucy said her son died in his sleep after suffering from a brain hemorrhage.
“On September 22nd, our world exploded, the damage done to it is completely irreparable. Archie was and always will be our everything. Those of you who know us know the disastrous effects it has had, and otherwise they will affect us. Archie was the most extraordinary magical person we have ever met, ”she wrote of her son, who died last year at the age of 19.
“As parents, we couldn’t be more proud of him for everything he achieved in the short time allotted to him, and especially for the beautiful person he was,” he said. She continued.
Archie’s mother said the family received the results of their son’s second autopsy just before Christmas.
“He died of an intracerebral haemorrhage caused by lymphoma / acute lymphoblastic leukemia. It is not leukemia as we know it, the word acute means fast in medical terms,” she wrote, adding The Doctor “assured us that there weren’t any. Anything anyone could have done since Archie showed no signs of illness. ”
According to Macmillan Cancer Support, acute lymphoblastic leukemia is “a rare cancer of the blood cells” that “can cause symptoms very quickly”.
“Archie had a lot of bleeding in his brain and the Dr. went to great lengths to assure us that he would not have suffered the way he would have suffered in his sleep. The results completely shocked us to think that something like this could happen. It’s very rare and only about 800 people die from it each year, “she continued.” Just days before he was dating the love of his life, Nethra celebrated his birthday early because she had to leave with work commitments. Life is fragile, precious and sometimes incredibly cruel.
In a separate post she added: “Our darling, we love you forever and ever and we thank you every day for every beautiful memory we have. We will always celebrate you. All our love.”
In addition to his work on CBBC’s So Awkward, Lyndhurst voiced the video game Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward and played a younger version of the character of Jack Whitehall in the BBC comedy Bad Education.
News of his death was confirmed by the broadcaster last October, which said in a statement that the actor “died of a brief illness”.
In a statement to PEOPLE at the time, Lyndhurst’s father Nicholas and his wife said, “Lucy and I are deeply saddened by grief and respectfully request privacy.”
