PEOPLE reported that defendant Kevin Palmer allegedly took the opportunity to jump into the driver’s seat of the car and push it while the girl was inside. When the vehicle drove away, Ibarra tried to escape several times, but was trapped with a seat belt and then got out of the truck. “Palmer fled several more miles,” police said in a news release. Police were informed of the incident after a witness called 911. The witness allegedly followed the car. Police said the defendant eventually stopped and escaped on foot, but was caught by police. “This is one of the saddest cases I have been associated with in my more than 28 years of law enforcement service,” said Police Chief Gordon Ramsay.
Ibarra’s parents described her as “full of life,” someone who “always made everyone laugh, loved her family (and) was always ready for any adventure.” They added that “the loss of (our) daughter was a tragedy that no family should face.” La Sorella maggiore della vittima, Marissa, has discovered that Ibarra “amava creare”, it was “easy and entertaining to watch with lei. She was brilliant, spensierata, schietta, orientata alla famiglia, forte tender”.
A friend of the affected family also opened a GoFundMe page. A message posted there read: “Brianna’s family lost her in a tragic and unexpected accident last Saturday afternoon in Wichita, Kansas. During this time it was said that Palmer is not new to the world of crime as he has many criminal convictions. The murder charge was bailed out for $ 500,000.
