Callum Dix, 20, died on January 18 in a car accident in Stanstead Abbotts, Hertfordshire.
The young father was in his third year of training as a mechanic and only had one exam to pass before he tragically died. He leaves behind his 18-month-old son Eddie.
Callum’s family remembered him as the “baby” who grew up with six siblings.
The family said, “Callum had a face full of sun and a heart of gold. We saw him grow from a shy little boy to a confident teenager and a father himself.
“Eddie is only 18 months old; Callum thought of his world. Callum was taken from us under the most cruel circumstances, his whole life ahead of him.
“He’ll never see Eddie grow, develop, or see Eddie help through life.”
The family said they promised to make sure Eddie knew what kind of man his father was.
“We will create memories like Callum wanted and will always be there to support him as he grows up,” they said.

“We’re a very close family and we’ve really been overwhelmed by the generosity, especially during these troubled times, from friends, family, and even complete strangers.
“As a family, we are truly devastated, and we know it was felt throughout the community and beyond.
“Thank you to everyone who took the time to send in their kind words.
“Stay strong” are easy to say and heartfelt words, but they are without a doubt the hardest thing we try. “”
The family said they “found great comfort” hearing the stories of Callum’s friends.
Callum left his house around 6:15 p.m. to go to work before his car was involved in an accident with two other cars.
A 45-year-old man who drove an Aston Martin was arrested on suspicion of causing death from dangerous driving and being in a state unsuitable for alcohol or drugs.
He was released as part of an investigation.
Callum’s family asked anyone with information about the crash to come forward.
“If you were on the A414 at around 6.15 p.m. on January 18 and saw something or have pictures from the on-board camera, please contact the police.
“We don’t want anyone to go through who we are now. It breaks our hearts when Eddie calls Papa and he doesn’t come.
“We stare at the door in the hope that this is a big mistake and we wish Callum through.”
Callum’s family created a donation page for little Eddie.
