In a statement on behalf of Julie, Dominic’s wife, it said: “With such sadness I must tell you that on Wednesday November 18th I suddenly lost my darling Dominic to an aneurysm.
“He was a great husband, father, brother and brand new grandfather. My heart is broken.
“He was kind and strong and was still the life and soul of the party. His unmistakably beautiful voice will live on forever – I couldn’t have loved him anymore and I’m not sure what our family will do without him. .. he was our shining star. ”
Together with his wife Julie – the daughter of Sir Bruce Forsyth – Grant was part of the popular Guys ‘n’ Dolls pop group that led to success in the 1970s.
Her singles have a lot of love and you don’t have to say you love me. You have reached the top 10 in the UK.
After the band split up, Dominic and his stepfather Bruce performed together.
Far from music, he was a passionate sculptor.
According to his website, his work has been exhibited in Amsterdam, Marbella, Mayfair and Monte Carlo.
He also made the bronze bust of his stepfather Sir Bruce, which was placed at the London Palladium in 2005 to mark the veteran artist’s six decades in showbiz.
Sir Bruce died in 2017.
Most recently Grant made a statue of King George IV as a gift to the coastal town of Ramsgate in Kent on the 200th birthday of the monarch, making it the only royal port in Great Britain.
It is hoped that the statue will be installed in September 2021.
