As the University of Georgia community continues to mourn the death of a 20-year-old student, Athens-Clarke County police are looking for the man accused of killing her in a car crash on Saturday, have announced the authorities.

Police have identified Donterris Gresham, 29, of Athens as the suspect in Ariana Tsarses’ death, police spokesman Lt. Col. of Police said. Shaun Barnett Monday. An arrest warrant was issued for first degree manslaughter, negligent homicide with serious or fatal injuries, traffic violations, exceeding speed limits and driving without a license. He is still on the run while the police try to find him.

Officials on Broad Street near Foundry Street responded to the incident around midnight on Saturday. Investigation revealed Zarse was crossing Broad Street with a friend when a Gresham-powered Honda Accord struck them, Barnett said. Gresham fled the scene after the collision, Barnett added.

Zarse was taken to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Your friend was not impressed.

Investigators managed to locate the Honda soon after, but were still working to find out who was driving it. On Monday afternoon, police identified Gresham as the driver.

The tragedy sparked numerous posts on Zarse on social media by family members and members of the UGA community. Most of the articles were about Zarse’s recent appearance at the Classic City Showdown at the Classic Center in Athens on October 1.

The event included American boxing matches and fellowship and fraternity boxing matches. Zarse competed and won as a representative of Pi Phi at the event which raised $ 20,250 for the Atlanta Red Cross and children’s health care.

Given the joy Zarse felt during the competition, her father posted on his Instagram page on Sunday to share the tragedy with friends and also highlighted how he hoped his daughter would be remembered.

“He lived a good life,” he wrote. “And she wants us all to remember her as we saw her after her boxing match: a dirty ass!”

Since then, the post has been inundated with comments from friends who share memories and offer their condolences to the family.

“I’m so happy that I can call her my (older) sister. Your daughter has shaped my life a lot. She was everything I try to be. I will miss him forever. I send you all my love, ”a sister of the Pi Phi Brotherhood commented in the photo.
