A New Yorker pleaded guilty to hiring a murderer in Ecuador to kill her ex-husband’s mother and her five-year-old daughter in hopes that he would spend more time with her.

Elsy Rodríguez García, 27, of Huntington Station on Long Island, admitted planning the hit Thursday.

As part of the deal, she pleaded guilty to conspiracy in the second degree, a class B felony, and was sentenced to 2-6 years in prison on April 15.

Rodriguez-García, who worked in a pediatric practice, separated from her anonymous husband and the father of one of her children in January 2019.

After spending time in Ecuador, Rodriguez-García devised a plan this summer to get it back.

She contacted a murderer in Ecuador and asked him to kill her ex-mother-in-law and the daughter of her ex-husband from a previous relationship.

Suffolk District Attorney Timothy Sini said it was part of an intricate plan to allow Rodriguez-Garcia to spend more time with him without distraction from her family.

Rodriguez-García, organized the attacks in Ecuador because they calculated that they were less likely to be detected.

“It is a shocking and disturbing case,” Sini said.

The intentions of the defendants were very clear: they wanted this person killed and they were ready and willing to pay for it. Fortunately, the police have been alerted and have been able to intervene before anyone is injured, and today’s guilty plea guarantees that they will be held accountable.

Sini said Rodríguez-García contacted a conspirator via WhatsApp in July 2019 to carry out the killings and provided photos of one of the targets.

Rodríguez-García gave them the address and agreed to pay $ 6,000 for his murder.

His ex-husband found out about Rodríguez-García’s plan and informed the police.

The police then falsified a photo of the allegedly deceased ex-mother-in-law and the deceased girl and sent it to Rodríguez García as evidence that the murders had been committed.

Rodríguez García was arrested on July 13.

“This statement ends a tragic case for everyone involved, including my client,” his attorney William Ferro said in a statement.

“The legal profession and the time that accompanies it should be sufficient to serve the interests of justice.
