One of the far-right Proud Boys leaders Enrique Tarrio was reportedly arrested Monday in Washington DC for allegedly burning a Black Lives Matter banner that was stolen from a historically black church last month.

The 36-year-old was found with two high-capacity gun magazines when he exploded on Monday, which led to an additional charge, according to a New York Times police statement.
Tarrio said he participated in the burning of the banner removed from the Asbury United Methodist Church during a rally in early December in support of President Trump.
He also told the Washington Post that he would plead guilty if it involved committing destruction of property.
Members of the Proud Boys and left-wing activists repeatedly clashed in the streets during protests that led to the burning of the shield. Several people were stabbed in the hand-to-hand fighting, police said at the time.
The Proud Boys are expected to hold another rally in Washington on Wednesday to protest Congressional confirmation of the election, the Times reported.
