The victim’s daughter said on social media that the attack took place after her father visited stores to buy a pack of cigarettes, the Evening Standard reports.

She added, “I want everyone to remember him as a lovely, warm person, even though he was a stranger to you. I love you so much, dad.”

Officers were called at 12:12 p.m. to report an injured man on the busy street of Yiewsley High and despite the best efforts of the emergency services he was pronounced dead at 12:43 p.m.

The autopsy revealed that the cause of death was a stab wound in the groin and chest.
