Jaquan Yulee Died in Car Accident
Officials in Suffolk said police and fire departments responded around 7:10 p.m. on a single vehicle accident at Block 6400 on Leafwood Road near South Quay Road. Units arrived and found a car that had collapsed on the roof.
Yulee, who drove the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only squatter the officials said. The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
You remember him from 2019, when the bloodthirsty linebacker made his first career start with the season opener win against VMI at the beginning of his junior season. He left the VMI game with a serious injury as he broke his neck and stopped playing in 2019. Before leaving the VMI game, he made six tackles, 1.5 for loss, and had a pass deflection.
He had only recently been medically approved to play, but since Marshall declared him medically ineligible, he decided to quit university and pursue his college career. He still had a decision to make, but he had narrowed it down to 3 HBCUs. Virginia State University, Central State University, and Virginia Union University were on his list.
The Marshall football community and beyond reacted all night.
