Daniel Mee and Jayden Dolman, British drunken brits were killed falling 30 feet from a cliff after “posing on the edge” for photos in Alicante.

Good friends who had been drinking all day

The good friends who had been drinking all day “kissed” when they died on the promenade at Punta Prima in Spain.

Just before drama hit, a local policeman warned the trio to take care of him when he saw that they were behaving dangerously near the edge of the cliff.

Daniel Mee, Jayden Dolman and Lewis Higgins

An investigation today revealed that the three friends – Daniel Mee, Jayden Dolman and Lewis Higgins – flew to Alicante, Spain for a vacation last July.

On their third night there, the trio had been drinking alcohol all day and were walking the Punta Prima promenade in Orihuela Costa, Alicante, when the incident happened around 7.15pm.

Somerset Chief Medical Examiner Tony Williams has investigated the death of 25-year-old plumber Daniel, but not Jayden’s, as his body has not been returned to the UK.

The three friends had lived in a villa in Alicante and investigation revealed that toxicology showed Daniel had used cocaine in the days before his death and Lewis said he smoked hash the night before.

Mr Williams said

But Mr Williams said alcohol consumption played a much larger role in the incident and that Daniel was 2.5 times the legal limit for driving alcohol at the time.

Lewis Higgins witnessed the incident with a Civil Guard policeman on the beach. Mr. Higgins had to be hospitalized due to the severe shock he suffered upon seeing the incident.

The trio were supposed to meet people they had met on the flight from the UK and “ran” when the two “fell” over the railings and fell nine meters or 30 feet onto the beach.

Daniel sustained a head injury and died at the scene. Jayden, 20, was taken to hospital in an ambulance but later died.

Spanish authorities said there were no criminal law issues to investigate.

According to a report by Spanish investigators, they walked the promenade, took photos and engaged in “dangerous activities, posing for photos at the edge of the cliffs” in a “state of drunkenness”.

The Spanish policeman said he saw the trio walking the cliffs in “good spirits”, leaning over the cliffs and taking pictures in dangerous ways.

He said that “the two bodies were side by side” and their personal belongings were scattered across the scene.

Mr Higgins said in a statement to Spanish investigators he had all of their belongings in his backpack because the other two had burned their bin in the sun.

He said they were taking pictures when they left and Dan gave Jayden a hug.

“He saw them both by the railing on the beach. They both seemed to lose their balance and I saw them hugging towards the beach.”

“They fell into space.”

Mr. Higgins was so worried he had to be immobilized and taken to the hospital and couldn’t remember anything.

But he said they “didn’t jump over the railing”, they “just lost their balance.”

He said the trio “drank during the day” and consumed hashish the day before.

The anonymous Spanish policeman said he saw them “taking pictures on a cell phone very close to the edge of the cliff” and that a woman was “scared”.

The trio continued the prom and the officer said they were “lively, screaming and laughing.”

They seemed to have something to drink and one of them was drinking from a water bottle as they continued to scream and laugh.

Coroner Mr Williams said Daniel’s alcohol content was “quite high” but he was “a pedestrian and does not drive”. And he said the cocaine level was just an accidental discovery.

He recorded the accidental death of Daniel who lived in Bridgwater, Somerset.

He said: “The three of us had a few drinks on vacation for fun. They were walking the promenade and Daniel and Jayden huddled against the railing and lost their balance.”

He said they fell nine meters over the railing and fell on the “steep slope” to the beach, and both suffered injuries that turned out to be fatal.
