A man was sentenced to more than a year in prison and fined $ 310,000 for poaching 60 deer in southern Kansas.
John Blick , 28, of Sharon, pleaded guilty in November and referred to 139 hunting cases in Barber County. He was also a criminal in possession of a weapon. He was also charged with 33 misdemeanors in Harper County in the murder of three trophy deer.

Blick was sentenced to 14 months in prison, the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism said Thursday. He was also ordered to pay the agency $ 310,000, the estimated value of the deer.
Blick was arrested after years of investigations involving various authorities. The Department of Wildlife said the information gathered during the investigation could lead to future lawsuits against other wildlife offenders.
The charges against Blick included criminal hunting, hunting from a vehicle, use of artificial light, exceeding pocket limits and hunting without a license.
Deer heads will be destroyed and equipment and firearms confiscated for the benefit of the state of Kansas, authorities said.
