A Brooklyn man was arrested Wednesday for attacking Asians in two separate attacks in New York City, police said.
Joseph Russo, 27, was charged with hate crimes for both incidents. According to New York police, last month he pushed an elderly man to the ground and assaulted a 32-year-old woman.

In the most recent incident, Russo is accused of arbitrarily prodding a 77-year-old man while looking at vegetables on sale outside the J&R NY supermarket in Sheepshead Bay.
Surveillance footage showed the insane man tearing a bouquet of flowers from an outdoor shop and throwing them onto the sidewalk before looking at his victim.
Two weeks before her, on March 22, the hatred of a woman walking along the Kings Highway in Homecrest tore her hair in another unprovoked daytime attack.
A video posted by police officers reportedly showed Russo brazenly pulling his victim by the hair for a few meters before letting go.
He then he hit the wall with his hand and walked away.
Victims refused to receive medical treatment during the two attacks. The woman suffered from headaches and neck pains and the man suffered bruises on her left arm.
Russo is accused of assault as a hate crime and harassment as a hate crime in each of the incidents, police said.
