Woman stabbed her mother to death, shredded her body and threw body parts, including her head, into garbage bags that fell on the bank of a river a few hours after she attempted to kill her brother in a fire.
Lucy Fox, 39, is accused of using her mother, Judy Fox, 65, a retired nurse, in the kitchen of her home in Shifnal, Shropshire on December 24.
The jury heard how Lucy Fox attacked her mother before dumping her remains in woodland.https://t.co/IJnz1SWV80

She then used her mother’s credit card at Asda to buy cooked food, whiskey and trash bags that she would later use to dispose of her mother’s body parts, the judges said.
A court overheard Fox dismember her body before throwing the remains into the undergrowth of a forest near the River Severn and Ironbridge Gorge in Coalport. Judy Fox’s torso and arms have yet to be found.
Four weeks later, on July 10, police found Ms. Fox’s severed head in a plastic bag before finding other body parts scattered around the area in various garbage bags.
Fox was charged with murder and arson for endangering her life after admitting to the crimes during her arrest, but Stafford Crown Court was told she would not be tried on Monday.
Now there will be no trial and now there will be an investigative hearing where the jury only has to decide what the person did, not her motive or mood at the time.
As a result, Fox can no longer be convicted of murder and arson, but after the jury’s verdict, the judge may decide that the suspect should be hospitalized indefinitely in a trial known as a purging.
Judge Kristina Montgomery QC said court juries are now being asked to determine if they can be certain Fox killed her mother.
Attorney Kevin Hegarty QC opened the case, saying Fox bought two knives from a shop in Dunelm before going to her mother’s house where she stabbed her.
She then set fire to a doormat to kill her brother and she confessed to both crimes when she was arrested, the jury was told.
After a fire broke out, police were called to the scene, but there was no evidence that Ms Fox was a nurse for the local Express & Star and Shropshire Star newspapers.
But the court heard that the kitchen was covered in blood, with splashes on the ceiling, walls, closet drawers and back door, prompting police to search for the owner.
The court heard that a hammer, saw, ax and two knives were found nearby.
Mr. Hegarty added: “Where was she? Only Lucy Fox knew. Prosecutors will ask you to conclude that Lucy Fox killed her mother, no one has ever seen Judy Fox again.
“The police continued their search and searched an area along the River Severn and the first remains were found on July 10 around 10:30 am.
“The investigations continued in this and the following days. The finds that were made were all in the same area.
Hidden in the undergrowth was a bag with Judith Fox’s severed head.
“The area was searched very carefully, shoulders, two legs and some fragments of skin and the right breast were found.
“These were examined by a coroner who found that her chest and shoulder segments had stab wounds.
“The stabbing may have been caused when Judith Fox was attacked, but it could also have been caused when Judith Fox was dismembered.
“But I ask you to take into account that Lucy Fox was armed with a knife, she killed her mother.”
She must have killed her mother by stabbing her. There was no other reason to have the knife.
“When she entered the house, she was armed with at least one knife and was ready to stab her mother.
“Her torso and arms are still missing today. The recovered parts showed varying degrees of decomposition and had been lost due to decomposition.
“This made it even more difficult for the forensic pathologist to determine the cause of her death in the absence of much of her body. You cannot indicate the cause of death.
“However, the recovered head is identified as Judith Fox’s by examining her dental impressions.
“So we’re saying the evidence shows Lucy Fox killed her mother.
“She entered the house with at least one knife and killed her mother in the kitchen.
The answer is that Lucy Fox decided where her mother was going and began her journey. After killing her mother, he took her there.
“He told the police at the door that he killed his mother and told the police he tried to kill his brother and there is evidence that he set a doormat on fire in the early hours Sunday morning. ”
The case continues.
