The horror unfolded on board the ship during a mysterious night. According to the American lawyer for the Alaskan district, Kristy asked her husband to leave the ship and return to Utah.

When Kenneth asked the children to leave the room, they both entered a neighbor’s cabin before hearing their mother shout. They would have seen Manzanares sit on his mother and hit her on the head. After Kristy’s brothers and father arrived, Kenneth grabbed her body and dragged her to the balcony. One of the men grabbed her ankles and brought her back into the cabin. The medical staff could not revive her and Manzanares was arrested the next day.

Kenneth Manzanares- Maximum Prison

Manzanares now faces a maximum prison sentence. Bryan Schroder, the American lawyer for Alaska, said that Kristy’s killer would be brought to justice.

He added: “Each year millions of visitors come to Alaska to admire the breathtaking scenery of the Grand Country. The vast majority have safe experience. “However, in the rare event that a crime is committed against a visitor, particularly a brutal crime such as the murder of Kristy Manzanares, you can be sure that the law enforcement community in Alaska will bring the culprit to justice. “Our hearts go out to the family and those close to Kristy Manzanares.” Manzanares was arrested on July 26, 2017 and is still in federal custody. He had not previously pleaded guilty to murder. Manzanares is expected to be sentenced in May.
