Kristal Bayron Nieves Biography                        Kristal Bayron Nieves Wiki

A teenager who had just started working at a Manhattan Burger King and wanted to leave the last shift out of fear was shot in the stomach early Sunday morning for more than $ 100, police officers and family members said.

The robber entered the restaurant at 116th Street and Lexington Avenue in East Harlem around 1:00 am. and she knocked out a male client before slapping a manager, police said.

Tragic cashier Kristal Bayron Nieves, 19, gave the thief some cash in the drawer, said a witness, according to her mother. The criminal then turned to leave, but turned around and shot Bayron-Nieves in the chest, the witness said.

The killer managed to get away with just $ 100, the victim’s family said.

The teenager was taken to the metropolitan hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after, police said.

“She didn’t deserve to be bankrupt while working at a Burger King,” a law enforcement source said.

Bayron-Nieves’ family said they only worked at the fast food restaurant for three weeks and had already asked for more security and a day shift because they feared for their own safety.

The victim wanted the changes “because she is only 19 and more than 50 homeless people sleep in front of the shop”, said her mother Kristie Nieves, 36, in Spanish, through the intermediary of a translator, her friend Nathalie Pagan. .

Nieves is heartbroken because she convinced her daughter to keep working.

“[Kristal] said [Friday], ‘I don’t want to go. I’m scared,” said the distraught mother. “I say, ‘You have to go out and take responsibility.’ At 10 pm I wake her up and tell her, “You have to go. You have to take responsibility. You have to have a better life. You have to go.”

Pagan said her mother “feels guilty about it. She told me before that she felt guilty for waking her up to leave.”

Pagan said Bayron-Nieves had a young suitor who stopped by the restaurant most nights and always brought her a flower. The young man was there when they killed her.

“He told Us he was there until his last breath,” Pagan said. “He tells us that he always gave her a flower when she went out for a walk. She came in and they opened the door for this guy dressed like her, all in black.

Pagan said Bayron-Nieves mistook the thief for a bellboy before beating up the restaurant manager and his young suitor and making him pass out.

She said Bayron-Nieves then gave the thief all of the ledger money, which was $ 100 in postage, the typical amount to start the next day.

“So [the fan] says the guy will turn around and come back and shoot him,” Pagan said. “Spin him around like he’s leaving, but he’ll come back and shoot him.”

“He did everything he said,” she said. “She gave Him the money and everything. That she hasn’t even done anything wrong.

The thief who escaped the shop was described as a thin man in dark clothes and a black mask, police said. Police followed the scene to record the video.

On Sunday, Crime Stoppers offered $ 3,500 to arrest the killer and displayed search posters with a surveillance photo of the killer.
