A man was charged with murder in the death of the young lawyer ”Celeste Manno”

The 23-year-old’s body was discovered Monday on her family’s Melbourne property around 4:10 a.m. after she was allegedly attacked by an intruder.

Luay Sako, 35, turned herself in to the local police a few hours after Ms Manno’s death and was taken to the hospital in police custody.

He was charged with murder Thursday night while recovering from an injured hand.

Sako will face court later Thursday night.

Friends and family said Sako and Ms. Manno worked together at a Serco call center south of Morang.

The shocking alleged murder of Ms Manno, who was supposed to celebrate her birthday this week, has sparked a wave of grief.

“I was supposed to spend Christmas with our family. Her family. Her mother. His brothers, ” her boyfriend Christopher said on social media earlier this week.
