A struggling family paid tribute to their daughter, who died after being hit by a car as she was crossing the street days before Christmas.
Luna Manemos, 3, was hospitalized after being beaten while trying to cross the street in Queensland, Australia. However, she passed away on Tuesday evening.
Luna’s grieving parents had held a night vigil since the incident in the town of Ormeau on December 20, calling on friends and family to pray for their daughter.

But doctors couldn’t save the girl, and last night Luna’s mom Jessica Feeney paid tribute to her “beautiful daughter” on social media.
“Unfortunately, we let our beautiful daughter go on December 22 at 9:03 pm, surrounded by her family in the arms of her mother and father.” She wrote.
“Our hearts are completely broken … Fly away, my beautiful red-haired blue-eyed unicorn!”
“Ride those little dragons … until we meet again!”
The owner of the baby sleepwear company said she and her boyfriend Timi Manemos had “the heaviest hearts” but wanted to “thank everyone for their prayers and positive mood.”
Almost £ 28,000 was raised for the family in less than 24 hours as Luna fought for her life on Tuesday, according to news.com.au.
That amount rose to almost £ 46,000 on Wednesday and family friend Clare Hamilton initially launched the GoFundMe campaign to reach £ 17,000.
He said the aim of the campaign was to help the Manemos family “relieve the stress they go through with money”.
“If this situation has taught us anything, money is nothing and time is everything,” he said.
“We never thought that would happen to anyone, let alone someone so close to us.”
Thousands of honors have been paid to Luna on social media and heartbroken friends share their love for the “beautiful” and “precious” girl.
Police said the three-year-old crossed the street between two parked vehicles and was hit by a Toyota Corolla around 9 a.m. December 20.
