Lueck, a 23-year-old student at the University of Utah, was killed by Ayoola Ajayi in June 2019.
The police statement contains hours of body camera footage captured by local police officers at Ajayi’s home while they were investigating. Check out our photo gallery of various crime scenes and evidence here.
2News has broken the images down into different videos, all of which are embedded below in chronological order. There are two videos in which the police are searching the house. The images come from two different police cameras. The police ultimately go different ways, which is why they are involved.
In this video, the police begin to search Ajayi’s house while he is standing outside. The police contacted a person renting a room in the house and asked them to leave while they were looking. The police continue to search in and around the house before questioning Ajayi outside the house.
The second video starts at about the same time as the first video. This video was taken from another officer’s body camera when police were ransacking Ajayi’s home.
The video begins with an officer taking a glass of water for Ajayi, who is sitting in his driveway. The police then speak to Ajayi while others search his home.
In this short video, the police catch up with Ajayi, who has been wandering through a nearby meadow. The police tell him that they will arrest him before handcuffing him and taking him to the police station.
An unidentified neighbor speaks to police as they ransack homes and yards near Ajayi. Police find remains of charred clothing and unidentified items.
After interviewing Ajayi, who you can read more about here, the police transported him from a police station to the Salt Lake County prison.
