28-year-old man was arrested after several bodies were found in an abandoned vehicle near Othello, east Washington.

KOMO reports that 28-year-old Mauricio Nava Garibay was detained in Adams County Prison on first degree murder and other possible charges. It wasn’t immediately clear whether he had a lawyer.

KOMO reports that officials found a deceased person in a vehicle on Thursday morning. Authorities contacted the Washington State Crime Laboratory for further investigation. When the vehicle was searched, the authorities found the remains of other dead in the trunk of the vehicle.

Authorities say the victim’s bodies are in such a precarious condition that they cannot be identified immediately.

Othello is 290 kilometers southeast of Seattle.
