Incident Details

The tragedy struck the Dalimore neighborhood in the Ado Ekiti metropolis on Wednesday evening when a young merchant, Olanrewaju Oladapo, was gunned down by strangers.

The deceased was busy selling recharge cards and accessories in the Dallimore area to Ado Ekiti.

It was learned that the incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. after the trader closed his shop and returned home.

One of the locals, who identified himself as Olatunji, announced that the attackers followed the deceased to his home behind Jone Jane Hospital in Dalimore, Ado Ekiti, where he was taken. Ambushed and killed at the main entrance.

The armed men allegedly took away the deceased’s valuables and money.

“The deceased had just entered the house a few months ago after feeling in danger in his old apartment.

“We are deeply saddened by the incident and ask the security forces to fish the perpetrators. He was a young man, resourceful, hardworking, and respectful, who had been robbed several times in his old home. ”

The ASP contacted Sunday Abutu, public relations manager for Ekiti State Police, confirmed the incident.

He said, “Yes, unknown people allegedly shot him when he came home from his tent at around 9.45pm yesterday (Wednesday).

“His body was evacuated and dumped in the morgue. During this time, preliminary investigations into a possible arrest of the authors are ongoing. “
