A former high school teacher in Virginia pleaded guilty to taking obscene photos of students and possessing approximately 8,000 photographs of child pornography.

Raphael Schklowsky, 38, pleaded guilty on Monday to several counts in a settlement with Fairfax County attorneys, according to the Washington Post.

The former Herndon High School teacher has been behind bars for 37 years when he was sentenced in September.

Schklowsky, who staged plays at the school, placed a camera in the locker room to record the change in students, prosecutors said. He was also accused of taking invasive photos of girls with his cell phone.

The dissident drama teacher pleaded guilty to two cases of possession of child pornography, five cases of illegal shooting of a minor and two cases of illegal shooting of an adult, according to the report.

Police were able to identify 10 victims in their cache of evil content, but many more have not been identified, the newspaper said.

“Crimes against youth by a person in trust are of particular concern and will always be a priority for my office,” said Steve Descano, a Commonwealth lawyer for Fairfax County.

Schklowsky was initially accused of secretly recording a video of his au pair in 2019 after the worker found a camera in his room and called the police.

His lawyer reportedly said Schklowsky had taken responsibility for his crimes.

“Raphael Schklowsky is deeply sorry, ashamed and sorry for his abusive behavior,” Edward Ungvarsky said, according to the newspaper. “Since his arrest, Mr. Schklowsky has undergone intensive outpatient and inpatient care and care that will ensure that such measures do not happen again.”

One of Schklowsky’s victims reportedly said it was difficult to wait years for her teacher to be brought to justice.

“I think he should be in jail for a long time,” he told the Washington Post.
