Rapper Mo3 Real Name
Mo3, real name Melvin A. Noble, was shot several times and, according to police, died in a local hospital. A previous police statement said the suspect pursued Noble after the rapper got out of his car to get away.
The suspect has not yet been identified but has been described by police as a black man who “escaped the scene in a dark limousine”.
A spectator was also injured in the shooting and was hospitalized for non-fatal injuries. The police are still investigating and looking for a reason.
“They think of the place and all of the people who might be standing around or other innocent people who might have been badly injured,” Police spokesman Sgt. Warren Mitchell told the Dallas Morning News. “I don’t know a better word to describe it other than ‘cheeky’. I mean in broad daylight [with] several cars nearby.”
The number of murders in Dallas has increased, according to the Dallas Morning News. At the same time last year, there were reportedly 177 murders, up from 211 this year.
Mo3 told Flaunt magazine in March that he hoped his music would bring a message of hope.
“The black and Hispanic communities face a lot of poverty and struggle. I am giving a message, I am giving hope,” he said. “Me, I was a rapper, but you can do whatever you want. You’re not limited to one thing. I preach that. Whether it’s my story or the next person’s story, they’ll feel me. Can identify.”
The rapper was best known for his song “Errybody (Remix)” – a collaboration with Boosie Badazz. Mo3 and Boosie released an album in February.
