Richard Pusey released on bail in October
Richard Pusey was released on bail in October as he awaited trial for life-threatening reckless behavior and drug crimes in an April crash on the Eastern Highway that killed four policemen.
Officers stopped Pusey’s Porsche on the highway when a truck was smashed into it and he is accused of filming a dying policewoman.
Pusey was arrested and tried last month on a slew of new charges relating to alleged incidents at Fitzroy’s property on December 27.
Documents show an allegation that the 42-year-old assaulted a woman, tied a noose around her neck and threatened to kill her.
Pusey appeared on video link on Friday before Judge Charlie Rozencwajg in a Melbourne court.
Pusey’s attorney, Chris McLennan, said his client and the wife denied the allegations.
But Mr Rozencwajg said police claimed Pusey attacked the woman.
“Unfortunately for Mr. Pusey, there are cops who saw him put a noose around his neck,” the judge said.
Pusey is also accused of sending abusive and derogatory texts, making threatening calls to another person and bailing out crimes.
Pusey’s bail also included a curfew and a request to open the door to police upon request.
He was accused of violating this condition on two occasions, including on Christmas Day.
Pusey did not apply for bail on Friday and will appear in court on March 9.
