The young victim, Coby Daniel, and her father, Arnold Daniel, told the store that their neighbor first confronted the boy with a hammer in front of the house.
Le-Nguyen said something to Coby, who replied, the father said.
Soon after, Le-Nguyen retreated inside before firing a shot from his window at the boy who hit him in the arm, family and authorities said.
“He tried to hit me with a hammer, but it didn’t work because I’m too fast,” Coby recalled in an interview with Fox 2.
“[Then] he took a gun and BOOM shot me right here,” Coby said.
There is only a bump on the Ring Doorbell video received from the power outlet.
“Ay, ay, ay, he shot me. Shoot me! Then you hear the baby scream.
Le-Nguyen’s bail was set at $ 10,000, which he released on Tuesday so he could be released.
“I’m trying to figure out how he got such a low bond because he tried to kill my son,” Daniel told the news channel.
The Public Prosecutor presented an urgent application to verify the constraint. They asked for a $ 100,000 bail.
