Exmouth’s beloved couple, Mal Watts and Samantha Nuttall, have been identified as the two people who died in a tragic ultralight accident in Cape Range National Park.

The wreckage of the ULM plane was discovered on Wednesday night a few kilometers from the famous tourist center.

The plane landed in Cape Range National Park at a place known as Shothole Canyon.

Authorities raised the alarm around 4:30 pm on Wednesday, when the plane did not return to the airport on time.

The police and the air force try to find the cause of the accident.

“At this point, we do not know the cause and would not speculate on the cause of the accident, but Exmouth Police will conduct a full coronary examination,” Inspector Mark Tobiassen said in a video released by the WA Police Department.
