Scottish police said officers found a body in a local park at 2pm and believed it was Sonny, although official identification has not yet been made.
A spokesperson for the Tayside Police Division said: “A man’s body was found in a park in Glenfarg at around 2:00 pm on Sunday 17 January.
“Death is not considered suspicious and a report is submitted to the prosecutor.
Official identification has yet to be made, but it is believed to be Santino Hogan, 16, who was reportedly missing from his home in Glenfarg.
“His family found out.”
Police had previously released a description of Sonny and asked the public to search for the teenager in their sheds and garages.
Cop Mike Brown said, “We are continuing to investigate Sonny and are asking the public to read up on possible addictions if he tries to find shelter at night.
Specialized search agents also conduct searches in the area with the help of our trained police dogs.
“We ask the public in the region to keep their dogs on a leash, so as not to distract from the search.
“It is totally inappropriate for Sonny not to come home and over time his family has become more and more concerned.”
