Tragic Louise Smith was found dead

The tragic Louise Smith was found dead on May 22nd in Havant, Hants, after she disappeared on VE Day and Shane Mays was on trial for murder.

Mays, 30, pleaded guilty to manslaughter at Winchester Crown Court today.

But he will be tried for murder starting tomorrow – with a jury informed of his confession of guilt.

Louise is said to have stayed with Mays and his wife Cjay – the student’s cousin – after they argued with their mother.

Cjay, 29, was arrested in connection with the teen’s death but was released without charge.

A great search for Louise was started after she disappeared on May 8th of this year.

Her body was discovered in a forest about a mile from Mays’ house two weeks later.

“ALWAYS FRIENDLY”

Louise’s mother, Rebecca Cooper, previously paid tribute to her daughter by posting a photo of them with the caption “So proud of my girl Louise”.

Purple balloons also stayed at the entrance to the woods, and the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth glowed in her favorite color.

A family friend described Louise as “charming” and “always friendly”.

Jackie Meredith said, “She was a really beautiful young girl and her family were very nice too.

“She was just your typical teenager, she was a bubbly and fun girl.

“She was easy to talk to, she was a charming young girl and was always kind to people.”
