Two men have been charged with assaulting a rabbi in Chigwell.
Souraka Djabouri, 18 and Abderrahman Brahimi, 25, both from Tudor Crescent, Hainaut, will appear today (Wednesday, May 19) at Colchester Magistrates’ Court.
Each of them is charged with wounds with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, theft and criminal damage by religious aggravation.

The incident in which Rabbi Rafi Goodwin was hospitalized took place on Limes Avenue on Sunday, May 16, just after 1:15 p.m.
After the attack, the 31-year-old rabbi was treated for head injuries at synagogues in Chigwell and Hainaut.
On Monday May 17, Essex Police arrested the two men who have since been charged.
A Redbridge equality group reiterated its intention to improve community cohesion after the attack.
After the news broke, Redbridge Council Chairman Jas Athwal condemned a “cowardly and unprovoked attack”.
“We are proud of our diversity and the religious communities active in Redbridge have long supported each other,” he added.
