Victoria Dudnik Age
Victoria Dudnik, 21, has been arrested for animal cruelty, a third degree crime, controlled substance distribution, a third degree crime and possession of drug paraphernalia, a class B offense, after an affidavit of the probable cause.
Animal control officers
Animal control officers responded to Dudnik’s apartment Saturday after his owner asked them to pick up an injured dog, three cats and a deceased cat.
Officers reported that the dog “smelled very strongly of infection” and was unable to get up.
“The dog had a wound on the crown of its head and a swollen jaw. The dog was emaciated and inaccessible to water and appeared to have a broken hip or pelvis because the dog was unable to put weight on it. “explained by affidavit.
The injured dog was taken to a veterinarian who found that he had all four broken paws with multiple fractures, a broken jaw, a broken skull and broken ribs. All wounds were in various stages of healing.
According to the affidavit
According to the affidavit, the dog lay down twice during his treatment.
Officials also found the animal had been identified as a missing dog by the Humane Society.
While searching Dudnik’s apartment, a police officer reported that he had seen blood and animal feces on the walls, floors and clothes throughout the house.
The neighbors told the police that they heard beatings and screams from Dudnik’s apartment. They said this happened multiple times and recorded recordings of a dog screaming loudly with multiple clicks, the affidavit said.
Dudnik had told his mother that she had found the dog on the street and believed it had been hit by a car.
“The vet treating the dog said the dog was dehydrated on admission and had multiple fractures. The vet said the dog’s injuries were incompatible with the dog hit by a car.” explains the affidavit.
In an interview with the police, Dudnik admitted having the dog because he knew it was injured and was not seeking medical treatment for it. She denied harming the dog but said she would punish the dog by slapping him on the buttocks if he peeed in the house according to the affidavit.
“Victoria claims she did not hit the dog after finding it injured on the street. Victoria said she knew the dog was badly injured because it couldn’t walk and it yelled every time you moved it. Victoria said she did not get medical treatment for the dog because she could not afford it, “police wrote in the affidavit.
Dudnik was arrested for animal cruelty and substance abuse after an officer found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in Dudnik’s apartment.
