Homicide investigators continue to question a 37-year-old man arrested for murder. He is known to the Chinese family.

The gifts were given to Ms. Chen, who lived with her husband Shuai Yuan, a senior data analyst, and their 10-year-old eldest son.

Heartbroken Family

The heartbroken family members sobbed as they left toys, candles and flowers, as well as a Harry Potter chocolate Hogwarts castle, at the scene of the accident.

Speaking to MyLondon, a family member said: “He was a child, only five years old. He loved Harry Potter and toy cars.”

They also left a cardboard sign with toys saying, “There is no harm or suffering in heaven!” Rest in peace !

“Thank you for the chance. You will be remembered.”

A friend who lives near her old address told MailOnline today: “Yi was a lovely woman, a loving mother. She was perfect.

“He often played with his two sons on the front line.

“That’s when I saw her the most, she stayed inside most of the time, but when I saw her she was outside having fun with her children .

“I’m shocked that this happened. His youngest son was Duan Duan. He was a cheeky kid but full of character even at a young age when they lived here.

“My heart goes out to his poor family.”

Ms Chen and her husband, 37, director of data science at digital TV company FreeWheel, have lived in the UK since 2010 after moving from Beijing.

They are said to have been a quiet family who did not interact much with neighbors at their current address in Barnet.

A man living nearby said: “My wife heard a woman screaming around 1.30pm yesterday.

“Within minutes, police and paramedics were everywhere. An ambulance landed in the courtyard of the nearby school.

“The police ransacked my neighbour’s house. A man was then taken away by officers. However, he wasn’t handcuffed and there didn’t seem to be any blood on him.

“The people of the house form a calm couple who keep apart. I haven’t spoken to them much.

“The husband was working from home most of the time and I don’t know what his wife was doing. They had two boys. The eldest was in school when all this happened.

“It’s so shocking because it’s always been a quiet and safe place. I’ve never heard of arguments or anything like that coming from the house.”

The mother is the fifteenth woman killed in an act of violence in London so far in 2022 – a third of the 46 murders investigated by the Met, British Transport and City of London Police.

Yesterday afternoon an emergency vehicle was called to pick up a car in front of the house.

The carabinieri remain in place and a cordon remains, while the coroners continue to search the house.

Chief Inspector Claire Hine, who is leading the investigation, said today: ‘My team of experienced investigators continues to investigate the circumstances that led to the tragic deaths of this woman and her son. .

“Detectives have already spoken to a number of people in and around Brookside South as we form a picture of events and work is underway.

“This incident has had a devastating impact on the family of the deceased and we have a team of specially trained officers on hand to assist where possible.
