An Arizona mother accused of killing her two children said in a trial on Monday that she did not remember the tragedy.
Authorities said 40-year-old Yui Inoue told Tempe police that she woke up with blood on her hands on Saturday and that her children died nearby. However, no memory of her horrific death has been reported.
“I did not kill anybody,” Yui Inoue, 40, said through a Japanese interpreter before a Maricopa County Superior Court commissioner in Phoenix told her not to talk about the case except with an attorney.

On Monday, a Japanese interpreter from Inoue translated him in front of the Maricopa County Supreme Court and said he did not kill his 7-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter.
“I didn’t kill anyone,” he said, according to the translator.
Ahead of the court’s appearance, a statement from Tempe police said the children’s bodies showed signs of trauma, including “some amputation,” according to AZCentral.
When police arrested Inoue for first degree murder over the weekend, they said he went to the police station and told an officer “he heard rumors about killing his children,” said Tempe police spokesman sergeant. Steven Carbajal said at the time.
“There was an officer leaving the station to do their normal patrol duties during the day and they seemed quite hectic reporting this,” Carbajal said at a news conference on Saturday.
The police went to Inoue’s home that night because of a marital argument, but did not make any arrests.
The two boys were in bed when police left, AZCentral said.
In a police statement received by the Post, police said Inoue’s husband left the apartment after an argument in which they threatened to stab him.
