The body of a 70-year-old man David Vowell accused of killing two duck hunters Zachary Grooms and Chance Black was found in a lake in Tennessee near the area where the victims were killed.

Grooms and Black were shot dead in a blind duck in Reelfoot Lake, Obion County on Monday, District Attorney Tommy Thomas told WREG-TV on Tuesday.

Thomas revealed that another hunter was in the same blind as the victims and witnessed the double homicide.

Officials have not disclosed a possible motive for the killings.

Before the officers recovered his body, they retrieved Vowell’s vehicle and boat.

Black was the son of a deputy sheriff from Weakley County. He worked as a manager at Final Flight Outfitters, a sports shop in Union City.

The company confirmed the employee’s death in a Facebook post on Monday.

Jackson Seales, a duck hunter at Reelfoot Lake, told WJHL he knew Black and described him as a friendly, polite salesman and “just a good guy in all respects.”

Black’s friend Grooms had just graduated from Bethel University where he was a member of the archery team, WBBJ-TV reported.

“I got very close to Zack when we were at Bethel,” said archery coach Kenny Louden in a statement. “He was a blessing to everyone he came in contact with.

TBI is asking anyone who was near the northern end of the lake on Monday morning and saw or heard something that might advance the investigation.
